SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 12 SP5
Situation
The rsyslog service failed after updating rsyslog directly to the latest version as shown below.
# zypper in -t patch SUSE-SLE-SERVER-12-SP5-2022-2314

When attempting to run the
rsyslogd
daemon, the following error is observed.
# /usr/sbin/rsyslogd
/usr/sbin/rsyslogd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/rsyslogd: undefined symbol: fjson_global_do_case_sensitive_comparison
Resolution
Install the latest update for
libfastjson4
.
# zypper install -t patch SUSE-SLE-SERVER-12-SP5-2022-2028
Cause
The latest
rsyslogd
depends on
libfastjson4
library file.
Additional Information
This issue does not occur when the system is fully updated. The
libfastjson4
patch will be updated together.
