Keyword Search Tips
By default, stemming is applied to your search terms to automatically search for word variants.
Searching for
Terminal operator
will find results containing Terminal and
operator
, but they might be separated by other words, or, as a result of stemming the results might contain words with the same stem, such as operate, or operations.
Searching for
“Terminal operator”
will retrieve only results containing that exact phrase.
Boolean searches
You can use the Boolean operators AND, OR, NOT to include or exclude results from your search.
Cosco
AND
Maersk finds articles containing both Cosco and Maersk.
Cosco
OR
Maersk finds articles containing either Cosco or Maersk.
Cosco
NOT
Maersk finds articles containing Cosco, that do not also contain Maersk.
Cosco
AND
(Evergreen OR Maersk) finds results containing Evergreen and Cosco, Maersk and Cosco, or all three.
You may also use Boolean operators between separate quoted terms. If you want to find all articles containing the exact words
“terminal”
and
“operator”
, but not necessarily adjacent to each other or in that order, you can search for
“terminal”
AND
“operator”
.
Wildcard searches
Using an asterisk (*) at the beginning, middle or end of a word or part of a word will allow you to find matches that include additional letters, as represented by the asterisk.

shipping
,
shipper
, etc.
Searching for
*building
finds articles containing
shipbuilding
,
newbuilding
, etc.
