but this gizmo is $55 cheaper. tried using this on my iPad to stream sky.com ( didn't work because sky.com are thieves and do let let you watch anything outside of the UK even though I'm paying $87 pcm- Ouch) but netflix came through at 4K HDR . also works with BBC Iplayer and so happy endings ! please note that this Gizmo does not charge the ipad whilst watching whereas the apple usb- does.
I'm not sure what's wrong with these, but I have two of the 4K/60Hz version, using for my 2019 macbook pro and 2 LG monitors. I bought them because the original mac converters are so big (they have hdmi, usb, and usb-c), and I just wanted something a little more sleek. They will sometimes work, and sometimes won't. Sometimes one of the screens will just cut out. My mac converters never did this, and when I go back to using them, they work 100% perfectly, so I know it's not my LG screens, other cords, or computer. Maybe the low price is too good to be true? Congrats to everyone who got these to work!

Changing to 1 star- these things are really bad, I cannot get a stable connection, even after a lot of time troubleshooting and rearranging. The rest of my equipment is top of the line. I guess you can't look to save money anywhere, skip these and get something else if you care about functionality and quality!
I'm not sure what's wrong with these, but I have two of the 4K/60Hz version, using for my 2019 macbook pro and 2 LG monitors. I bought them because the original mac converters are so big (they have hdmi, usb, and usb-c), and I just wanted something a little more sleek. They will sometimes work, and sometimes won't. Sometimes one of the screens will just cut out. My mac converters never did this, and when I go back to using them, they work 100% perfectly, so I know it's not my LG screens, other cords, or computer. Maybe the low price is too good to be true? Congrats to everyone who got these to work!
