Problem Description MacBookPro M2, MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1, Xcode 15.3. I'm trying to recompile my project that uses SDL2, from: SDL.org's github using their SDL2-2.30.2.dmg release. "Embed Framework" is required to get around this runtime error: dyld[85171]: Library not loaded: @rpath/SDL2.framework/Versions/A/SDL2 Referenced from: <525E2631-2C23-3E66-96F5-031C734CF0B5> Once the "Embed Framework" step is performed, the Xcode mapping of #include files stored in the loaded framework is undone. Undoing the "Embed Framework" step, puts the name mapping back but the program aborts as before. Either I can compile and obtain a run-time abort or I can not compile and not run the program. I've included a cludge to get around the issue, awaiting your fix (or advice). Replication Details Starting from a “from scratch”, Apple-supplied, “one-liner” (“Hello World”) as follows: Start new project in Xcode, selecting “MacOS”, “Command Line Tool”. Product Name:FrameWorkTest, Team:None, Organization Identifier:frameworktest, Language:C. Create the project in a new folder. with the given (default) settings. hit Apple-R… yay… it compiles and runs! add this line under the #include #include "SDL2/SDL.h" Now “main.c” source is showing “file not found” against this new #include line. That’s expected. (6) Select FrameWorkTest from Navigator Pane (left hand side) (7) Select “General” tab (middle pane) (8) Finder drag “SDL2.framework” into Xcode’s middle-pane “Frameworks and Libraries” section (check the navigator pane (left pane) and now you have a “Frameworks” group containing “SDL2.framework” After a few seconds the “file not found” indicator in “main.c” vanishes and the program is compilable (Apple+B). The Framework has been integrated (Hooray). After a few seconds the “file not found” returns, though the program is still compilable (this seems to be a real-time parser mismatch with the compiler results, but not the main issue). I found the program is actually runable (Apple+R), probably because “main.c” has not been recompiled. (9) Force a recompile by adding a space to “main.c” (and remove the space) and, once again hit Apple+R. Now compile fails because “SDL2/SDL.h” is not found. (10) Change the #include "SDL2/SDL.h" #include “file not found” goes away after “Apple+R” forces a recompile. though now the runtime “abort” issue is present. Xcode is seriously confused at this point as putting double-quote version: #include "SDL2/SDL.h" back is fine now (no longer “file not found”) even though the source is back to a failing state. Fine. now to fix the runtime “abort” issue: (11) Select “file view” in the Navigator pane (little folder icon). Select Project name, (topmost “FrameWorkTest” to show settings in middle pane). Select “Build Phases” tab. (12) Drag “SDL2.framework” from the “Frameworks” group in the project Navigator pane (leftmost pane) into “Embed Frameworks” (middle pane) (13) Now Apple+R will not compile (again) with “file not found” and I cannot get the project to compile and run without my “Trick” detailed above. Once the “Trick” is applied and the “file not found” goes away, the embed step (#12) lets the program compile and run - without “abort”. Apple’s prepending of framework name to included files is inconsistent and faulty. The step 12 appears to undo the framework name mapping for #included files found in the framework. This step-by-step repeatable bug crib is not fixed by a “Product->Clean Build Folder…”. Note: If step 12 is applied by doing a Finder drag and not a pane-to-pane drag, a (pointless) second Framework entry is introduced into the project, this confuses things further! CLUDGE WARNING Get around the “file not found” issue (total cludge but awaiting Apple’s real fix) is: Logged in as an admin, in a terminal shell, do this: cd /usr/local/include (if you don’t have this directory; mkdir -p /usr/local/include; cd /usr/local/include) ln -s /Library/Frameworks/SDL2.framework/Headers; mv Headers SDL2 Now in target settings, “Build Settings” tab, find “Header Search Paths” section and add “/usr/local/include” with “recursive” option selected (if it’s not already there). I used a symbolic link (-s) for the trick so that the link is not disrupted when you next upgrade your SDL2.framework. Now, even when you do a Product->Clean Build Folder, the project should build and run without Xcode issues. Additionally, if you’d like to perform “the trick” for SDL2_ttf.framework #include files, do: cd /usr/local/include ln -s /Library/Frameworks/SDL2_ttf.framework/Headers; mv Headers SDL2_ttf in an admin terminal. Aside... Reporting web page renumbers my 1) through 13), though the renumbering does not appear in the preview as it does in the actual post! I'm working on a tool for my studies and is designed to display all exams and additionally, it has the functionality of automatic study progress. The idea is that when I click on an exam, it automatically gets marked in green and the progress automatically increases in proportion to the ratio of the marked exam to the total ECTS credits of the program. The app is structured so that upon launching, the sections "Erster Studienabschnitt" (=First Study Phase), "Zweiter Studienabschnitt" (=Second Study Phase), "Freie Studienleistungen" (=Free Study Achievements) appear, each with their own detailed views. The "Erster Studienabschnitt" includes the exams "Privatrecht I", "Öffentliches Recht I", "Strafrecht I", "Österreichische und europäische Rechtsgeschichte", "Romanistische Grundlagen der europäischen Zivilrechtsdogmatik". Privatrecht I, Öffentliches Recht I and Strafrecht I each lead to their own detail view containing the exams. For these, the function works flawlessly. However, the whole thing does not work at all for the free study achievements. When you go to "Freie Studienleistungen", you see "KS", "AG", "UE", "KK", "VO", "VL", "ECTS aus anderen Studien", "KV", "Repetitorium". These 9 fields also lead to detailed views where one can see individual exams, which should be added to the progress when marked. The issue is that all exams from these 9 views should only count up to a total of 24 ECTS towards the study progress, so beyond 24 ECTS, the percentage of progress does not increase anymore. The problem occurs, for example, when I mark the exam "AG Europarecht in "AG", which should be worth 2 ECTS, the percentage remains the same and does not increase at all... Does anyone see a mistake? The studyprogressview is the "main" view where (I guess) something's missing studyprogressview agview freestudyservicesview example where it's working Already tried to get help from AI, but did not solve the problem. I just upgraded my Macbook & Xcode installation, as we are required to target the latest iOS SDK later this month. I am now unable to compile our app as the iOS runtime is not installed by default. I have tried to download the missing runtime by clicking on "iOS 17.4 Not Installed - Get" in the top title bar. I think that the initial download may have been interrupted. Now, when I click "Get", I get a popup that suggests that I can't download the Runtime because the iOS Simulator is already installed. I'm guessing that Xcode is holding a reference to a non-existent installation somewhere, but I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I have tried completely uninstalling Xcode, and deleting /Library/Developer from both my personal directory and the system directory. I can't delete the iOS Simulator installation reference from Xcode directly either. When I try to, I get this error message: Unable to remove SimulatorRuntime Domain: com.apple.DVTFoundation Code: -1 User Info: { DVTErrorCreationDateKey = "2024-04-13 14:18:22 +0000"; Unable to remove SimulatorRuntime Domain: com.apple.DVTFoundation Code: -1 Cannot stage disk image or bundle for delete: 87947E69-C049-4950-B663-C40C3BCAAFB2 Domain: com.apple.CoreSimulator.simdiskimaged.SimDiskImageError Code: 18 The file “87947E69-C049-4950-B663-C40C3BCAAFB2.dmg” doesn’t exist. The developer mode in Settings - Privacy and Security - Developer Mode won't enable. I click the switch to the green on, the device prompts me to restart, I restart it and then there is no last pop-up after the restart completes to confirm enabling. The option is also still off in Settings. I have done the process multiple times and still nothing. I have also tried manually enabling it from the Mac but also it fails with error 1. The full output from the Mac is: Request failed: An unknown error has occured 00008101-0005048E2251003A: Failed to enable Developer Mode (1) Does anyone know of a way to fix this or any recommendations? I have tried Reset all settings, fiddling with the WiFi, and adjusting Find My iPhone (although I don't think those have anything to do with Developer Mode). Any help is very appreciated. I'm developing an iOS app that displays store locations on a map using Apple Maps (MapKit). I've limit the number of icons that can be displayed on the map to 100, but there's still huge performance issues and the app is very laggy even on modern iPhone models. What's the best practice when displaying a large number of icons on a map, should the icons be in PNG format with a small resolution (~10kb) or should the icons be vector (SVG) for best performance? Should I use the MapKit framework for iOS 17 or the UIKit approach? Hey, I uploaded an app to Testflight and received these two Missing API declaration warnings. When I run my app in debug mode, everything works as expected. I also uploaded my app to the App Store for TestFlight and when I download it there it crashes, but only after I log in with Firebase Authentication. I have verified that the platform: iOS version in the pod file matches the deployment info in Xcode and I have verified that I have runner.xcworkspace open. I have also tried - delete Podfile - 'flutter clean' - 'flutter pub get' - 'flutter build ios' But I still get the error and I think this is the problem why my app crashes on the TestFlight. I am not using the latest version of Xcode, could this be a problem? What else can I do? I am trying to setup a Virtual Machine environment for our CI/CD and I get the following error when I try to clone the source packages of the xcodebuild command in the disk mounted by the host in the vm to use it as a cache: Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=62 "Too many levels of symbolic links" This error only shows up when the path of the option "clonedSourcePackagesDirPath" is set to the disk mounted by the host. Anyone has any idea of how to solve this issue ? Or an explanation of what's going on there ? I'm developing iOS framework with Objective C. I create a dispatch_queue_t by using dispatch_queue_create. And call CFRunLoopRun() for run the Runloop in the queue. But, It looks like the dispatch_queue_t has share the RunLoop. Some classes has add an invalid timer, and when I call the CFRunLoopRun(), It crashed on my side. Sample code: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.queue1 = dispatch_queue_create("com.queue1", DISPATCH_QUEUE_CONCURRENT); self.queue2 = dispatch_queue_create("org.queue2", DISPATCH_QUEUE_CONCURRENT); - (IBAction)btnButtonAction:(id)sender { dispatch_async(self.queue1, ^{ NSString *runloop = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", CFRunLoopGetCurrent()]; runloop = [runloop substringWithRange:NSMakeRange(0, 22)]; NSLog(@"Queue1 %p run: %@", self.queue1, runloop); //NSTimer *timer = [[NSTimer alloc] initWithFireDate:[NSDate date] interval:1 target:self selector:@selector(wrongSeletor:) userInfo:nil repeats:NO]; //[[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] addTimer:timer forMode:NSRunLoopCommonModes]; dispatch_async(self.queue2, ^{ NSString *runloop = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", CFRunLoopGetCurrent()]; runloop = [runloop substringWithRange:NSMakeRange(0, 22)]; NSLog(@"Queue2 %p run: %@", self.queue2, runloop); CFRunLoopRun(); Some time they take same RunLoop: https://i.stack.imgur.com/wGcv3.png ===== You can see the crash by uncomment the code of NSTimer. The NSTimer has been added in queue1, but it still running when call CFRunLoopRun() in queue2. I have read some description like: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38000727/need-some-clarifications-about-dispatch-queue-thread-and-nsrunloop They told that: "system creates a run loop for the thread". But, in my check, they are sharing the RunLoop. This is sad for me, because I facing that crashes happen when calling CFRunLoopRun() on production. Can someone take a look at this. At the beginning of the year, I transferred 3 applications from one account to another. Last month, I had to make changes and update two of them without any issues. Now, I need to update the third one, but in Xcode, I'm getting an error saying that the identifier can't be registered to my development team because it's not available. In App Store Connect, I can see all 3 applications perfectly. I have regenerated the certificates, but this third one is not appearing in the provisioning profiles. Any help? what exactly should I be doing with it?. Is there a place in Apple Connect where I should be uploading it?. If there's a place to upload it, will this mean that privacy manifest for our app will be updated by using this PDF? Do you have some documentation I can reference to where I can see the process of uploading this PDF? (not the process of how to create the xcprivacy file or how to add it to xcode nor all the properties that go in the plist file.) When I try to list paired devices(like iphone with developer mode enabled and paired/connected with Xcode) using this command, I don't see it listed. xcrun simctl list pairs Can't see the paired devices in xcrun simctl list as well. I am on Sonoma 14.41 and the paired iphone is on ios17.2.1. Please advise. This is to see if anyone knows how to resolve this incident in the new version of XCODE 15.3 since it works fine in version 15.1 As you can see, when you open the component, the text type appears by default and the added library does not load nunitosan, when change to customs and search the font, it does not appear in the list. I would greatly appreciate any TIP or solution for this error in updating the tool. Everything is ok util upgrade to xcode15.3 and macos14.0.
