Beyond Graphene

Materials in reduced dimensions behave vastly distinct from their bulk counterparts, especially when they come to few-atom-thick, and trigger great interests for both fundamental and applied scientific research.

Two-dimensional (2D) materials such as nitrides, sulfides, selenides, tellurides, and layered oxides into two-dimensional atomic sheets. Earlier theoretical and experimental works have shown that unprecedented physical properties were also possible in most of the layered materials by reducing the thickness of their three-dimensional crystal arrangements, like h-BN and MoS2 those are starting to become another fascinating materials in this area. They show a rich variety of physical properties that enable numerous possible technological applications in the fields of nano-electronics, optical devices, catalysis, high-performance composite, lubrication etc.
