Apple has announced the launch of its new operating system, macOS 10.15 Catalina on October 7, 2019. In keeping with Apple's release cycle, macOS 10.12 Sierra will no longer be receiving security updates. Sierra was replaced by High Sierra 10.13, Mojave 10.14, and the newest Catalina 10.15.
Our latest fully-supported operating system if macOS Mojave (10.14).
Please note:
At this time we do NOT recommend installing Catalina in either beta or final form until our testing is complete. Upgrading prematurely may result in a potential loss of data and performance as a result of incompatible applications. You can stay informed about the progress of our Catalina testing on our
macOS Catalina support status
page.
As a result, we are phasing out software support for all computers running macOS 10.12 Sierra and will end support on December 31, 2019.
What do I need to do?
If you have an SCS-supported computer still running macOS 10.12 Sierra, you have the following options:
Upgrade via Self Service
If your Mac
meets the hardware requirements set by Apple
, the macOS Mojave installation package will be available through Self Service on your SCS-supported Mac.
It is a requirement to install ESET Endpoint Security first
and then launch the Mojave installation package in Self Service.
Please note:
if you choose not to upgrade your computer,
it will not receive security patches or functionality updates and our ability to troubleshoot issues will be limited.
SCSCF software support charges will be canceled automatically. Additionally, computers identified as security risks may be blocked from the CMU network by the Information Security Office (ISO).
Expect High Sierra support to end in 2020
With Apple's release of macOS Catalina, High Sierra will be the third oldest version and will cease to be supported next year. As a result,
SCSCF will stop providing software support for all computers running macOS 10.13 High Sierra on November 30, 2020
.
If you do not see this package available to you,
please contact us
, as there may be conflicting or incompatible software/hardware conditions on your computer.
