The first installment of taxes on the Grand List of Oct 1, 2023 are due and payable on July 1, 2024. Failure to pay any tax due July 1, 2024, on or before Aug 1, 2024, will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 2024.

    The Collector of Revenue Office is responsible for the collection of real estate taxes, personal property taxes, motor vehicle taxes, water & sewer usage, and parking tickets.

    The Town’s October 1, 2023 Grand List:

  • General Fund mill rate is 38.68 (District T);
  • Downtown Special Services District mill rate of 2.94, resulting in 41.62 (District S).
  • The State of CT capped the motor vehicle mill rate at 32.46.
  • DUE TO THE EIGHTH UTILITIES DISTRICT AND SOUTH FIRE MERGER, THERE WILL NO LONGER BE SEPARATE MILL RATES FOR THE FIRE DISTRICTS BEGINNING WITH THE 2022 GRAND LIST.

    Payments or documents can be placed in an envelope in the drop box near the handicapped entrance to Town Hall. Please write your name and phone number on your envelope and seal your envelope. Do not include cash in the envelope.
