3. The Payment

Your booking can be payable:
- with credit cards: Visa, Mastercard (not yet American Express & Diners). You will be responsible for the expenses associated (+2%).
- by bank transfer from your bank to MONPARIS’ account. We’ll send you the necessary information in due course, but please understand that you will be responsible for all expenses associated with the transfer.
- over the Internet. We use Paypal (from eBay Group), which is a safe way to make online payments. You will be responsible for the expenses associated (from 0 to 4%)
A) Reservation Payment:
30% of the total rental cost or 1 month for rentals over 2 months. This has to be paid at the booking date to confirm your dates. If you prefer, you can also pay the entire sum in once.
B) Balance payment and refundable security deposit:
Balance payment can either be made few weeks before your arrival through Paypal (credit card) or wire transfer, OR upon your arrival in cash (Euros only), or traveller checks in euros.
C) Security deposit:
For the refundable security deposit, we require a check of 30% of the total rental cost (in Euros or in any other currency) upon your arrival, which will not be cash, unless absolute necessity. We will return it to you (or destroy it) upon your departure. You can either pay it with the total rental cost through bank transfer or Paypal.

4. The Refundable security deposit

The owner requires a security deposit of 30% of the total rental cost. The security deposit is a protection for the owner against potential damage to the apartment during the rental period. If there is no damage, the security deposit will be fully refunded to you upon your departure or within a month if made by credit card. If there is any damage, the remaining security deposit will be refunded within a month after deducting the amount to cover these damages. You can subscribe to an insurance for short term rentals that covers cancellation, curtailment and personal liability (see below).

5. Insurance & Cancellation policy

In the event of a cancellation (a change in the rental period is considered as a cancellation) from the renter, the owner will retain a pro-ratio portion of the rental fee subject to the following schedule (any wiring expenses incurred will be deducted from the refundable amount):
1. If the cancellation is notified 60 days or more before the scheduled arrival, we will reimburse the received amount except 5% of bank expenses and 120 euros of administrative cost .
2. If the cancellation is notified less than 60 days before the scheduled arrival, we will keep the totality of the paid amount and will claim the remaining amount of the rental. Nevertheless, if we manage to rent the apartment during the period you had previously booked, we will charge you only 10% of the total rental cost + bank expenses, and refund you the rest.
A travel insurance with trip cancellation clause is strongly recommended, but not an obligation, at the time of booking. The all-important trip cancellation feature protects all of us from the downside of an unanticipated change of plans.
Moreover, you are notified that is mandatory in France that every tenant has his or her own civil liability insurance policy. You may be asked for of this coverage during your stay. You are welcomed to use the policy offered by the companies below.
Renter insurance is compulsory in France. We recommend you several insurance companies which propose contracts to cover personnel effects, personal liability for short term rentals (<90 days), curtailment and cancellation (optional). Monparis is not responsible for theft or damage to personnel belongings. The applicable rate is 3% of the total amount of the rental.
