So for clarification, Ion has said “Group Loot “ will be added as an option to all raiding content. How it works is that a certain number of items will drop, and the players within the raid can roll for those items, and whoever rolls highest, get the item they rolled for. You can pass if need be.
While I’m mostly happy with this, I’m worried about Players rolling for every single item, even if it’s for the wrong gear type. They should restrict it so only plate users can roll for plate items, etc.
So its kinda of a compromise?
Not sure how will it work. “free for all” group loot? Its just begging for people to press need on everything.
Limitations? Depends how it will work. For example, a dps caster can still set his loot spec for healer(IF the class has healer off spec) and roll for every healer item as “main spec” with healers. Almost every hybrid or multi-role class can do this.

Yeah I was dreading Master Loot. No doubt some guilds will seek to dicate who can and can’t roll on stuff but the rest of us can just roll on the loot that drops.

plus there are enough guild hoppers which just take a kill/loot and go to the next guild as trail =)
I will always remember in WoD , I mained Assasination rogue , the other rogue in the guild was combat ( now called Outlaw)
Main spec prio , was always the rule. Dagger dropped from Kilrogg. I rolled … then the outlaw rogue rolled , he beat my roll … he got the dagger.
I said erm guys main spec prio , I assasination , he’s combat.
The combat rogue : Assasination is bis on one fight for mythic progression. I got no daggers.
I complained about this on mumble at the time. Then took it to officers.
The next day , I got a long mail saying I was kicked from the guild , for being a loot W-hore and the rogue was his irl friend.
Yeah master loot is not fair.
PS : No I didn’t call out names , or rage worthy of a youtube video. But yes I was mad especially when the leader had said every week main spec prio.
Trial ships can be sneakily extended. Is 1 week enough? Ok. Too early. 2 weeks? A month?
Ask to early and they can look upon it as you being desperate. Yet they can easily extend it for months with a promises “soon”.
Its not toxicity where you can see on the first minute that “this guild is toxic. I am out”.
Only after weeks or months after you were a “free labor worker” do you start notice that… “hey…this is taking way too long now?”.

While I am not amazed of this lack of loyalty&dedication either but if the trialboy/girl participated in the fight fully(didnt die at the start so its not a boost) = he/she has fair chance for the reward as well no?
Good I can not wait to rob new guild recruits of their normal raiding gear in Dragonflight.

This is a good move, and I don’t understand the obsession with changing the whole game because bad guilds exist. Just leave them and find one where the players support one another. They exist, you know. I made one and ran it for over 5 years together with 4 others. And we even survived group loot in Legion, believe it or not.
