I have been using pt3 on a regular basis for the past couple of years. However, recently I ran into some problems with my p.c. I have now had it fixed but am unable to get onto PT3. When I double-click it, I get a window saying 'configure postgreSQL database' with a 'name' and 'postgreSQL server information' sections.
When I try to create a database:
Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT3_2011_07_03_173227
Reason: Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "???" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
When I click 'this database already exists' and connect:
Unable to connect to PostgreSQL database: PT3_2011_07_03_173227
Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3_2011_07_03_173227). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "???" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
I don't know what to do. I obviously already have a vast pt3 database which I need to access before being able to continue playing.
I am unsure if the problem is a result of my p.c troubles (which involved changing ram + swapping battery + changing power supply) or if this has something to do with my trying unsuccessfully to upgrade postgresql just before my p.c crashed.
Thanks for your help,
Hi, I have the same problem, I red this comments and solutions but I can´t understand, where can I find the "Services" as Gooner wrote:
"Thanks for your help,
Indeed when I went into Services (click Start, on XP click Run, and type "services.msc") and tried to start the PostgreSQL service, for some reason it was listed as disabled. Changed it to automatic and clicked 'start' and its all working again."
I would like to repair it this way as gooner wrote, but I dont know where to find "services" or where to click to "run" etc.
