WHY PROMISE?

The Dallas County Promise Program supports students in navigating their best-fit postsecondary options with the ultimate goal for students to be successful in college, career, and life. Promise Scholars can be offered a last-dollar tuition grant to help reduce financial barriers present in accessing a postsecondary education at partner colleges and universities.

Complete the Promise Path

All eligible students should complete the Promise Path to confirm interest in receiving tuition assistance, coaching, and other Promise benefits.


You’ll receive a confirmation email with your Promise ID.


*Completing the Promise Path does NOT obligate a student to participate in this program.

Apply to Colleges/Universities

Submit your applications to the Promise partner colleges or universities of your interest.


Please contact and confirm with the Admissions Office at your college/university of interest to confirm registration dates and that all admission requirements have been met.

Submit Financial Aid Documents

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid ( TASFA ) and list the Promise partner colleges or universities you are considering.


Please contact the Financial Aid Office at your chosen college/university to confirm your FAFSA or TASFA application has been verified and all financial aid requirements have been met.

Register for Fall Courses

Complete course registration to begin classes at a Promise partner college or university for the Fall semester immediately following high school graduation.


Please contact the Admissions Office at your chosen college/university to confirm registration dates and that all requirements have been met.

Path form, Fall 2025 admission application and 2025-2026 financial aid application due for:

  • - Southern Methodist University [includes CSS Profile]
  • - University of North Texas (Denton)
