To return expected results, you can:

  • Reduce the number of search terms. Each term you use focuses the search further.
  • Check your spelling. A single misspelled or incorrectly typed term can change your result.
  • Try substituting synonyms for your original terms. For example, instead of searching for "java classes", try "java training"
  • Did you search for an IBM acquired or sold product ? If so, follow the appropriate link below to find the content you need.

Once you have Connect:Direct for Windows installed and you have added the initial Node and Connect:Direct Admin ID via the Requester, you can test the Connect:Direct install by running a loopback copy test using a predefined Process script.
    1. On the Requester, 'Attach' to the node. 2. Select 'File - Open'. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sterling Commerce\Connect Direct 4.x.xx\Server\Process. You will find a file named "SAMPLE.CDP". Select it to open it. (This assumes that you installed Connect:Direct for Windows in the default location) 3. You will now see the Process script displayed in the Requester. Single-right click on the white space and select 'Edit/View Text'. You will now see the plain text version of the file. 4. Take note of the COPY step and the 'From' and 'To' statements. Notice the paths in those statements. This process will copy the SAMPLE.CDP file from its current location to the specified path with a new name.
In most cases, the Connect:Direct User Id being used to Attach to the Node will not have 'write' authority at the Windows OS level to the destination location specified in the 'To' statement path. For testing purposes, in the 'To' statement, change the path in the 'File' clause to "c:\temp\verify.cdp". 5. After making the change, single-right click in the white space and select 'Edit/View Statements'. Then select 'F9' to submit the Process. Look in C:\Temp for the file.
That will conclude the basic test of the C:D Server. For each additional User ID, Proxy, or Functional Authority change that you add, you can repeat this Loopback process.
