Муниципальное учреждение культуры, созданное в с. Верхний Уймон Усть-Коксинского района. Открыт в 1973 г. в местной школе под руководством Р. П. Кучугановой. С 1996 г. размещается в старообрядческой избе-связи, построенной в конце XIX в. и состоящей из комнаты, горницы и холодных сеней.
В избе сохранено внутреннее убранство с русской печью, полатями, лавками, полками под посуду. Здесь собрано более 500 подлинных экспонатов: вышитые полотенца, пояса, опояски, обувь, предметы быта – горшки, кринки, самопряхи, старообрядческие книги, иконы и др. Хранится большой материал по истории старообрядчества, о жилых и хозяйственных постройках, секретах русских ремесел, воспоминания об истории села местных жителей.
В 2008 г. придан статус муниципального.
