I am having a problem with https on graylog2.2.3, Currently using CentOS-7.3 all in one graylog2 server. This is a Virtual machine with 8 cores, 10 GB of ram and 1 Tb storage.
I created an Input for Localhost and tested to received messages, completed. No problems.
I attempted to use the following:

Unfortunately, toward the end of the page I was having problems with JVM to pick up the new trust store. So, I attempted to follow these instructions as shown below;

Some problems were noticed, for example: My Input created for Localhost now shows [0 Running] and I cannot start them (i.e. it errors out “unable to start input”), but I’m receiving messages from localhost on that Input, Kind of weird. The Second Problem noticed is when I navigate to System > Logging see the following;

I fixed my problem. I was trying to use an IP Address instead of FQDN.
I had to do some reconfiguring.
Configure my CentOS 7 Virtual Machine /hosts and /hostname file to a FQDN
Made a PTR record on my DNS Server for my Graylog Server.
Make Certs, I filled out Organizational Unit as FQDN.
