How do I prevent the FX window from opening up in the docker?
I think I used an option so it would. Now I can't find how to undo it.
Thanks
your suggestion does, indeed, undock the fx window,
but this does not prevent the fx windows from going into the docker in the first place, which is my concern.
thanks again
For getting new FX windows to automatically open in the docker is fairly obvious... Under "FX plugin settings", check option"Autodock new FX chain windows".
However, it's not so obvious finding how to undo this behaviour
simply right-clicking on its docker tab, and unchecking "dock FX window in docker" will not undo this behaviour.
Here's how
1. open any track's FX window (that still opens in the docker)
2. right-click on its docker tab
3. uncheck "dock FX window in docker"
4. in the FX windows menu, click on "FX"
5. click the "window float selected FX"
Now that track's FX should open on it's own; not in the docker.
You must repeat this step for each track as needed.
Still on the subject of FX docker.
For some reason in a new project I am getting the ADD FX menu added to the docker. It used to be a small window with all the FX listed. No matter how many times I click VIEW, and unckeck DOCKER, the next time the same FX list appears in the docker again, and DOCKER is rechecked.
Anyone know how to fix it so it is back to the default?

EDIT.......
Forger that, just found it. A right click in the lefthand side of the TCP allowed me to uncheck 'DOCK FX LIST IN DOCKER'
