Since October 2021, Xuanyu Cao has been an assistant professor with the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong. From August 2017 to October 2021, he was successively a postdoctoral research associate with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Princeton University (advisors: H. Vincent Poor and Junshan Zhang), and the Coordinated Science Lab at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (advisor: Tamer Başar). He received the M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2016 and 2017, respectively, under the supervision of K. J. Ray Liu. Prior to that, he got a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2013.

罗冰博士现为昆山杜克大学（美国杜克大学和中国武汉大学联合创办）电子与计算机工程助理教授，计划与香港科技大学电子与计算机工程助理教授曹轩宇博士联合招收1-2名2024年春/秋季入学的博士生（第1、4年在港科大，第2、3年在昆山杜克大学），提供4年每月15000RMB奖学金，顺利毕业后获得香港科技大学博士学位。

研究方向

Optimization of distributed and federated learning model performance for low-latency or real-time applications，algorithmic problems realting to economic and social impact of AI such as fairness, bias and stability.

2. 学科背景：计算机科学、通信工程、电子工程、自动控制、应用数学等专业；
