General Policy

Qatar University provides textbook services on campus for registered students and faculty members.
Qatar University provides support for textbooks for all registered students. The university covers 50% of the cost for textbooks priced above 50 QR, as specified by course professors, while students bear the full cost of textbooks priced at 50 QR or less.
The University Textbooks Section determines and announces the procedures and instructions for textbook distribution.

E-textbooks service will be available from 1 September 2024. Students may apply to purchase e-textbooks through the Self-Service System .

Second: Printed Textbooks

Period for the purchase and delivery service of textbooks

The service will be available starting from 25 August 2024 , by applying the request for the purchase and delivery of printed textbooks through the Self-Service System.

Instructions for Visiting the University Textbooks Section

Book an Appointment:
An appointment must be scheduled before visiting the University Textbooks Section. For detailed steps, please refer to the Textbook Receiving Appointment Guide . Purchase Request:
Upon arrival, you can request printed textbooks using the service’s designated tablets. Follow the steps provided in the Self-Service Sales Guide . Bag Fee:
A non-refundable fee of 3 QR per bag will be charged if bags are requested during the textbook purchase process. Companions Policy:
Bringing a companion into the University Textbooks Section is not permitted, except for students with special needs. Authorized Third Party Assistance:
A third party is allowed to receive textbooks on behalf of students with special needs under the following conditions: They must reserve a separate appointment and present the reservation confirmation upon arrival. They must bring their Qatari ID and the student’s QU ID card for verification. Important Points and Instructions

Students cannot return printed or electronic textbooks after purchase.
Students may exchange a defective printed book within one month of receipt.
If a student can't access the eBook after receiving the access code, they should contact the University Textbooks Section at [email protected] using their QU email and include a screenshot of the issue.
Fees can be paid online via the e-payment system , available 24/7, or at the Treasury Office in the Student Affairs Building (I11). These fees include textbook, packaging and bag fees.
Students may request a textbook a second time within the same semester, but will be charged the full price without the 50% discount.
Textbooks can be purchased as a reference at full price without the 50% discount.
Students can find textbook prices through the Self-Service System .
Packaging, delivery and bag fees are non-refundable.

Textbooks Delivery Service

This optional service allows the delivery of printed textbooks assigned to student courses. The service can now be requested through the Self-Service System with additional fees.

What are the service delivery fees?

Packaging fee: 15 QR, paid to Qatar University (non-refundable).
Delivery fee: 25 QR, payable in cash to Qatar Post upon receiving your textbooks .

Service Delivery Time

Textbook parcels will be delivered within 3–5 working days after processing by the University Textbooks Section.
