Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 15 SP2

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5
Situation
A number of different situations causing system crashes, hangs and even file system corruptions have been observed when using BTRFS quotas or full file systems:
crash dump Livelock in start_delalloc_inodes()

Server freeze / hang
-
The root filesystem was mounted read-only after reboot and failed to mount as read/write -
BTRFS error (device xxxn): parent transid verify failed on
BTRFS critical (device xxxn): corrupt leaf
Resolution
Maintenance updates resolving this issue have been released.
To check which kernel update needs to be applied, please execute
zypper lp -a --bugzilla=1182047
which returns something similar to:
linux15sp2:~ # zypper lp -a --bugzilla=1182047

Cause
The root cause was a specific kernel patch to
handle
qgroup space
.
