（梵蒂冈新闻网） 教宗方济各6月4日主日在诵念《三钟经》后，念及2日周五在印度奥里萨邦发生的列车相撞事故。教宗说：「我保证为两天前在印度发生的铁路事故的众多罹难者祈祷。我与伤者和家属同在。愿天父接纳亡者的灵魂进入天国。」

这起列车相撞事故的救援工作已于6月4日结束。截至罗马时间当天中午为止，统计出的罹难者人数为288人，伤员有1200人。这是印度近20年来死伤最惨重的一起铁路事故，目前所知的酿灾原因是号志灯失灵。
