Hi David,
How would I tellif the update was installed properly and recognized in Inventor?
I ask because i have installed the update 4. Now I can tell it installed by looking at the installed software updates under the Control Panel>Programs and Features (Windows 7 x64).
However under the About Inventor Window, I don't see the date changed or any information reflecting the installed update.. Just the Build number, SP and a date (which i had thought was the SP install date)
your thoughts?

For Inventor 2013 forward Updates will show in the Help About. The build number will not change but there will be a flag appended with the Update. For the final Update 4 for Inventor 2012 this is not the case. Updates are not Service Packs so the Help About information should always show the highest level of Service Pack and for 2013 forward the last Update installed.
You installation indicated the correct install of Update 4 for Inventor 2012 SP2.
